Emiliano García-Page to release political book 'Luces de emergencia
Emiliano García-Page, the President of Castilla-La Mancha, is set to publish his first book, ‘Luces de emergencia. Contra los populismos y el frentismo’, on October 28. The 288-page work, published by Espasa, combines personal memoirs with an analysis of Spain's Transition, the 1978 Constitution, the autonomous state system, and Europe's role.
The book arrives on the 44th anniversary of Felipe González's historic electoral victory in 1982. Page uses the platform to advocate for moderate politics and criticizes what he describes as “simplistic populisms” that distort reality.
A significant portion of the text focuses on internal PSOE history, specifically reconstructing the October 1, 2016, Federal Committee meeting that led to Pedro Sánchez's resignation as Secretary General. The work also addresses themes of independence movements, personalist leadership, and the deterioration of public debate, featuring reflections on various political figures including Adolfo Suárez, José María Aznar, and Mariano Rajoy.
