Emiliano Martínez joins Chelsea from Aston Villa

Emiliano ‘Dibu’ Martínez has completed a transfer from Aston Villa to Chelsea in the Premier League. The Argentine goalkeeper reportedly signed a deal worth approximately 9 million euros per year, a significant increase from his previous estimated annual salary of 7 million euros at Aston Villa. The transfer fee paid between the clubs was approximately 7.5 million pounds.

Since joining the club managed by Xabi Alonso, Martínez has faced a challenging start to his tenure. In his first three appearances, he has conceded seven goals and has yet to record a clean sheet. His recent performance included a 2-2 draw against Hull City, where an error during a corner kick contributed to the opposition taking a temporary lead. Despite interest from Juventus, Martínez chose to remain in England.
