Emiliano Velázquez López seeks Sheinbaum's help with disability pension

Emiliano Velázquez López, a 29-year-old man with motor and intellectual disabilities, has appealed to Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum for assistance regarding the Bienestar Pension Program for People with Permanent Disabilities.

Velázquez López reports that he has been attempting to join the program since 2020 without success. He alleges several administrative irregularities, including lost documents, records that failed to appear in the system, and being registered in a delegation where he has never resided. Most notably, he claims that upon visiting a bank to check his status, he was informed that his registration was active but was incorrectly associated with another person's name.
