Emilia‑Romagna allocates €6.2 million to train cinema and live‑music professionals

The Emilia‑Romagna regional government is launching two new funding calls totalling €6.2 million to support training for professionals in live‑music performance, theatrical production and the film‑ and audiovisual sector. €4 million of the budget, sourced from the European Social Fund (FSE+ 2021‑2027), will finance courses for lighting technicians, sound engineers, set designers, costume makers, location managers and other on‑set roles needed for live shows. An additional €2.2 million will be earmarked for training linked to the cinema and audiovisual industry.

The calls are open to accredited training providers that can design programmes ranging from short‑term certificates (240‑600 hours) to permanent up‑skilling (50‑150 hours) and advanced courses (300‑1 000 hours). Regional officials say the investment aims to boost the competitiveness of high‑value‑added cultural sectors, create qualified jobs and reinforce the regional creative ecosystem. “Quality skills are the main factor of competitiveness for high‑added‑value chains such as music, live shows and audiovisuals,” said Vice‑President for Training Vincenzo Colla, while regional Culture Assessor Gessica Allegni highlighted the role of festivals as hubs for innovation and international exposure.
