Emilia‑Romagna region raises hospice daily tariff

The Emilia‑Romagna regional council approved an increase in the daily reimbursement for adult hospice facilities from €230 to €268, to be applied from 1 May 2026. The change aims to support the regional network of palliative‑care services while a national tariff system is still under development. An additional €31.60 per day will be billed to the health authority of a patient’s residence when the hospice is located in a different jurisdiction. A temporary economic boost is also provided for admissions discharged between 1 January and 30 April 2026, and periodic meetings with hospice managers will monitor activity data and cost trends.

The regional health policy minister, Massimo Fabi, said the measure “strengthens our concrete commitment to the palliative‑care network, ensuring dignity, quality of assistance and human proximity for patients in this delicate phase of life.”
