Emilie Mann places 19th in Ultra Trail du Mont Blanc

Emilie Mann, a 33-year-old respiratory therapist from Kelowna and professional ultra-endurance athlete for Merrell Canada, placed 19th in the Ultra Trail du Mont Blanc (UTMB) in Chamonix, France.

The prestigious 174-kilometre race, held on the weekend of August 28, involved over 10,000 metres of elevation gain and featured more than 2,400 athletes. Mann completed the course in 25 hours, overcoming significant physical challenges including nausea between kilometres 40 and 90.

Mann described the event as the most competitive race of her career, noting that the UTMB serves as a final for the world’s top trail runners.
