Emilien Jacquelin to make professional cycling debut

Olympic biathlon champion Emilien Jacquelin is set to make his professional cycling debut this Sunday in the UCI La Polynormande. The 31-year-old French athlete, who previously won gold and bronze at the Winter Olympics, will compete for the Decathlon-CMA CGM team in the 169 km race held in Normandy.

Jacquelin transitioned to cycling after deciding to pursue the sport professionally in March. His preparation included over 7,000 kilometers of cycling and significant climbing, though his training was interrupted by a clavicle fracture resulting from a crash in May. Despite the injury, Jacquelin expressed a mix of excitement and nerves regarding his entry into the professional peloton. Following his debut, he is also scheduled to participate in the Tour du Limousin.
