Emilio Azcárraga discusses Henry Martín's future at Club América
Emilio Azcárraga, owner of Club América, has addressed the uncertain future of team captain and striker Henry Martín. While Martín's current contract is set to expire in June 2027, no renewal has been signed yet.
Speaking at the ‘Beyond the Score’ forum, Azcárraga expressed confidence that the 33-year-old forward will remain with the club, noting that Martín is a historical reference for the institution. However, Azcárraga also clarified that the club would not prevent the player from pursuing other opportunities if an offer arises, stating that like other legends, Martín ‘has the doors open to do other things.’
Martín has become a key figure at the club, having scored 124 goals and providing 60 assists in 332 matches. He currently ranks as the fourth all-time leading scorer for the team.
