Emilio Bonifacio sets Tigres del Licey franchise record for runs scored

Emilio Bonifacio set a new franchise record for the Tigres del Licey by becoming the team's all-time leader in runs scored. During a game against the Leones del Escogido at Estadio Quisqueya Juan Marichal, Bonifacio reached 317 career runs with the club, surpassing the previous record of 316 held by Cesarín Gerónimo.

Bonifacio secured the milestone and the victory in the tenth inning. Entering the bottom of the tenth as a phantom runner for Sergio Alcántara, he stole third base and scored on a passed ball by catcher Randy Florentino, resulting in a 5-4 walk-off win for Licey.

In addition to the scoring record, Bonifacio remains the franchise leader in stolen bases with 124. He is currently three hits away from reaching 500 career hits with the Tigres del Licey.
