Emilio Gay expected to be fit for England's Test series against Pakistan

England opener Emilio Gay is expected to be fit for the upcoming three-match Test series against Pakistan, which begins on August 19. Gay recently suffered a shoulder injury while playing for Durham against Middlesex, causing initial concerns regarding his availability for the series.

According to reports, a scan conducted on Saturday showed no serious damage, suggesting Gay will be able to continue his opening partnership with Ben Duckett. This development comes as England enters a new era under the leadership of Joe Root, who is beginning his second stint as Test captain, and interim head coach Marcus Trescothick, preceding the full appointment of Stephen Fleming.

The three-match series is scheduled to take place in Leeds (August 19), Lord's (August 27), and Birmingham (September 9). England's squad faces other selection challenges, as top-order batter Jacob Bethell has already been ruled out due to a knee injury sustained during a recent series against India.
