Emilio van der Linden returns to Aruba after prosthetic rehabilitation

Emilio van der Linden has returned to Aruba following nearly three months of intensive rehabilitation and treatment in Houston, Texas. During his time in the United States, Van der Linden received a new prosthetic leg and underwent daily therapy sessions lasting at least three hours to rebuild his balance and mobility.

The recovery process involved significant physical and mental challenges, including several falls during the early stages of training. However, through consistent practice and professional guidance, he successfully learned to walk with the prosthesis. Van der Linden expressed his intention to return to his previous employment immediately.

The medical effort was supported by the Aruba Shriners Club in coordination with Shriners International, marking the first concrete patient project for the local group since its reactivation. Upon his arrival at Queen Beatrix International Airport, he was received by Prime Minister Mike Eman and Minister Wendrick Cicilia.
