Emiltrofén Rally-SM event marked by success and tragedy

The Emiltrofén, the fifth round of the Swedish Rally Championship (Rally-SM), has been described as an organizational success by rally icon Jonas Kruse. Kruse praised the ambitious organizers and the challenging variety of unique, fast, and winding tracks provided by the collaboration between Hultsfred and Vimmerby municipalities.

However, the event was marked by a tragedy. Competition press chief Malin Valette confirmed a fatal accident occurring on one of the initial special stages. A man who had been taken to the hospital on Friday evening following an incident related to the rally has passed away.

In competition news, local driver Ludvig Fransson secured second place in his class during the event.
