Emily Blunt, Josh Brolin, and Benicio del Toro to return for Sicario 3

Production for the third installment of the Sicario crime thriller franchise is officially underway. Emily Blunt will return to the series, joining returning cast members Benicio del Toro and Josh Brolin.

In a departure from previous entries, Taylor Sheridan will not return to write the script. Instead, Steven Knight has written a draft that secured the actors' involvement. Director Padraic McKinley will work with Knight to rework the script based on actor feedback, with filming planned to begin early next year. Lionsgate is expected to release the film, following the first two installments in the franchise.
