Emily Burnham wins first ‘Jeopardy!’ match

Emily Burnham, a former Bangor Daily News reporter and current Substack author, competed on the television game show ‘Jeopardy!’ winning her initial match. During her first game, Burnham secured $17,201 by successfully answering questions regarding the Pop-Tarts Bowl, 60s movie quotes, and Belize.

In the Final Jeopardy! round, Burnham correctly identified a graduation speech excerpt attributed to Olympic skier Lindsey Vonn. Although she achieved her goal of winning one game and reaching the final round, she was unable to secure a second consecutive win. She missed the final question, which had the answer ‘the Everglades’, ultimately losing to a competitor from Florida.
