Karoline Leavitt departs White House Press Secretary role

Karoline Leavitt has completed her final day as White House Press Secretary, a role she held for nearly 20 months. During her farewell, Leavitt described the experience as a “bittersweet” adventure and noted that the job involves significantly more work behind the scenes than the televised briefings suggest.

Leavitt, who became the youngest person to hold the position at age 27, stated she is stepping away to spend more time with her two young children. She indicated that she will remain active in the political sphere by returning to MAGA Inc., a pro-Trump super PAC, to support the administration and Republican candidates ahead of the upcoming midterm elections.

Regarding her successor, Leavitt advised that the incoming press secretary must have the president's complete trust. She remarked that President Trump is his “own best spokesperson,” suggesting that any successor must understand and believe in his communication style. President Trump has not yet named a permanent replacement for the role.
