Emily Damari, former Hamas hostage, marries in Tel Aviv
Emily Damari, a British-Israeli survivor who was held captive by Hamas for over 15 months, married her partner Danielle Amit in a ceremony held in Tel Aviv. Damari was abducted from her home in southern Israel during the 7 October 2023 attacks, an ordeal during which she was shot in the leg and hand, resulting in the loss of two fingers.
The wedding was attended by family, friends, and several fellow former hostages, including Romi Gonen, Doron Steinbrecher, Liri Albag, Danielle Gilboa, Omer Shem Tov, Keith and Aviva Siegal, and Gali and Ziv Berman. The couple exchanged vows beneath a Chuppah wearing bespoke outfits designed by Israeli fashion designer Oria Azran.
Damari, who was released as part of a temporary ceasefire deal, met Amit in the months following her release. Damari's mother, Mandy, spoke at the event, reflecting on the 471 days her daughter spent in captivity.
