Emily Osment recalls working with Dolly Parton on ‘Hannah Montana’
Following the death of country music icon Dolly Parton at age 80, former ‘Hannah Montana’ co-star Emily Osment has shared memories of working with the singer on the Disney Channel series. Osment, who played Lilly Truscott, described Parton as lovely, punctual, and noted that she always smelled like magnolias.
Parton appeared in three episodes of the show as Aunt Dolly, a role that mirrored her real-life relationship as the godmother to series star Miley Cyrus. Other cast members, including Jason Earles, also offered tributes, noting Parton’s ability to make those around her feel like family.
Parton passed away on August 25 after a private battle with cancer. Miley Cyrus released an emotional tribute on Instagram, stating that Parton was an angel by her side and expressing a desire to honor her memory through music.
