Emily Watson teases new elements for ‘Dune: Prophecy’ season 2

Actress Emily Watson has teased that the second season of the HBO Max sci-fi series ‘Dune: Prophecy’ will introduce “a lot of new elements” and “really interesting and intriguing things.”

Speaking at the Variety Lounge during the Sarajevo Film Festival, Watson discussed reprising her role as Valya Harkonnen. She described the experience of filming in a sci-fi setting as a “true departure” and noted that the role provided a sense of being on a “quest” similar to experiences often afforded to male actors.

While the second season has already been filmed, a release date has not yet been announced. Watson also expressed enthusiasm for Denis Villeneuve’s upcoming ‘Dune: Part Three’, noting her admiration for the director and the cast.
