Emily Wickersham to reprise role as Ellie Bishop on NCIS: Origins

Emily Wickersham is set to return to the NCIS universe, reprising her role as Eleanor “Ellie” Bishop in a multi-episode arc on the prequel series NCIS: Origins. Her character will first appear in the October 27 episode, titled “Shimmy Shimmy Ya.”

In the series' present-day timeline, Bishop is enlisted by the new NCIS Director, Tony DiNozzo (played by Michael Weatherly), to assist Leroy Jethro Gibbs (played by Mark Harmon) in tracking down the unidentified assailants who shot him. The storyline follows Gibbs as he attempts to keep his investigation off the official books.

Wickersham previously portrayed Bishop for eight seasons on the original NCIS series before departing in 2021. This return follows the recent appearance of Michael Weatherly in the October 20 episode, “Return of the Mack,” marking a reunion between Weatherly and Harmon for the first time in a decade.
