Emine Erdoğan Hosts Spouses of World Leaders at NATO Summit, Discusses Children and Digital Safety

During the 36th NATO State and Government Leaders Summit in Ankara, Emine Erdoğan welcomed the spouses of attending heads of state at Çankaya Köşkü. She convened a round‑table titled “Children, Technology and Security: Protecting the Next Generation.” Participants—including France’s Brigitte Macron, Lithuania’s Diana Nausėdienė, Finland’s Suzanne Innes‑Stubb, Romania’s Mirabela Grădiinaru and Poland’s Marta Nawrocka—raised concerns about screen addiction, artificial‑intelligence‑driven content, cyber‑bullying, disinformation and the broader impact of digital platforms on children. They called for international cooperation, stronger age‑verification, parental‑control measures and for tech companies to assume greater responsibility for algorithmic design. NATO’s official social‑media account posted a “Thank you, Ankara 💙 #NATOsummit” message featuring the Turkish Stars aerobatic team. A surprise appearance by Turkish singer Ajda Pekkan during the diplomatic dinner was also noted.
