Emine Erdoğan visits National Botanical Garden of Türkiye
Emine Erdoğan visited the National Botanical Garden of Türkiye in Ankara, where she was received by Minister of Agriculture and Forestry İbrahim Yumaklı and other officials. During the visit, she toured seedling production areas and the 'Our Heritage is Local Seed' garden, established in 2024 under her patronage.
In the garden, which features 24 different types of fruits and vegetables grown from ancestral seeds, she harvested items including tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, melon, beans, and corn. She also inspected the ornamental plant production center and a soilless farming greenhouse utilizing nutrient film technique to grow lettuce, basil, arugula, parsley, and strawberries.
Additionally, she visited the Agricultural Biodiversity Museum, which was registered as a special museum in 2024. The museum showcases Anatolia's agricultural diversity through herbarium samples, wild animals, and cultural plants, featuring galleries such as 'Healing Plants: Nature's Pharmacy' and 'Nature's Gold: Wheat and Grains'.
