Emine Eymür expands beekeeping business in Kastamonu

Emine Eymür, a 42-year-old mother of four living in Istanbul, has successfully transformed a hobby into a professional beekeeping business in her hometown of Kastamonu. After completing beekeeping courses in Istanbul, she began production in 2024, initially starting with five rented hives in Sakarya.

With support from the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry and the TKDK, Eymür expanded her operation to 40 hives in the Araç district of Kastamonu. She also utilized a 75% grant through the 'Women Producing Royal Jelly in Kastamonu' project to begin royal jelly cultivation.

Eymür manages her business by traveling 900 kilometers weekly between Istanbul and Kastamonu to monitor her hives, supplemented by security camera surveillance. Her products have found market value, with honey selling for 1,500 TL per kilogram and royal jelly selling for 6,000 TL per kilogram.
