Emir Can İğrek headlines award‑winning Büyükçekmece Culture & Art Festival

The 27th International İstanbul Büyükçekmece Culture and Art Festival, organized by the Büyükçekmece and Istanbul Metropolitan municipalities, was named the world’s best culture and art festival by UNESCO‑affiliated CIOFF for the 12th time. The event featured participants from 62 countries, with 650 artist delegates showcasing traditional dances.

During the award ceremony, deputy mayor Hakan Çebi received the best‑festival plaque, accompanied by CIOFF President Muammer Arslan and International Dance Festival Federation Vice‑President Gürhan Ozanoğlu. Singer‑songwriter Emir Can İğrek performed his popular songs to an enthusiastic crowd, with attendees praising the atmosphere and his performance. The festival runs until 1 August.
