Typhoon Dolphin has lashed southern Japan, specifically Okinawa and Amami Island, causing injuries to at least six people and disrupting power for over 50,000 buildings. The storm, featuring maximum sustained winds of 162 km/h and gusts up to 216 km/h, led to widespread transport disruptions, including flight cancellations by ANA and Japan Airlines.

As the typhoon tracks toward China's east coast, authorities in Zhejiang and Fujian have activated Level III flood emergency responses. In Zhejiang, coastal typhoon alerts have reached the highest level, prompting the closure of ports and the suspension of 162 passenger ferry routes. Heavy rainfall, potentially exceeding 600 mm in some areas of eastern Zhejiang, is expected to persist through August 12.

In Taiwan, the storm caused the cancellation of dozens of international flights and brought heavy rain to the northern regions. The typhoon's progression has also heightened regional tensions, as China issued instructions for ships in the Taiwan Strait to follow its traffic control, a move criticized by Taipei.
