Emirates expands premium onboard wine and champagne selection
Emirates is expanding its onboard gastronomic offerings by introducing a new selection of premium wines and champagnes across its global network. The airline has invested over US$1 billion in its wine program since 2006 and currently maintains a cellar of approximately five million bottles in specialized facilities in France.
The strategy involves purchasing many labels years in advance to allow for controlled maturation. This approach enables the airline to serve limited production vintages and rare labels that are often difficult to source in other markets.
Key highlights of the updated selection include:
• First Class: The introduction of Dom Pérignon Vintage 2017 globally by the end of the year, alongside Château Mouton Rothschild 2003 on UK routes. Passengers traveling to East Asia can access Seña 2016 from Chile, while those heading to Australasia will be offered Penfolds RWT Shiraz 2015.
• Business Class: New additions include Châteauneuf-du-Pape Blanc 2024 from Domaine des Sénéchau.
• Premium Economy: The inclusion of Wiston Estate Brut NV, marking the airline's first English sparkling wine.
