Emirates Group reports USD 1.1 billion half-year profit amid Gulf conflict

Emirates Group has reported a profit before tax of AED 4.1 billion (approximately USD 1.1 billion) for the first half of the 2026-27 financial year, ending September 30, 2026. This represents a 66 percent decline compared to the same period last year.

The group attributed the decrease in earnings to operational disruptions caused by regional conflict in the Gulf and a sharp rise in jet fuel prices, which reportedly doubled compared to the previous year. Group revenue fell 12 percent to AED 66.2 billion (USD 18 billion).

Despite the overall decline, Emirates SkyCargo saw a 52 percent increase in revenue, even as cargo volumes decreased by 1 percent to 1.2 million tonnes. This growth was driven by reduced airfreight capacity in the region and disruptions to maritime transport. The airline's passenger numbers fell 22 percent to 21.8 million, and it has restored 91 percent of its pre-disruption network.

Subsidiary dnata recorded a profit before tax of AED 410 million (USD 112 million), a 51 percent decline from the previous year. The group maintains significant cash reserves of AED 54.1 billion (USD 14.7 billion) to manage ongoing market volatility.
