Emirates launches U‑Dream Headrest for economy class seats
Emirates Airline has introduced the U‑Dream Headrest, a newly adjustable headrest designed for economy‑class seats on long‑haul flights. The device features padded side wings that fold inward to support the head and neck, and can be adjusted in height and tilt to suit different passenger heights and postures.
The headrest is already installed on three Airbus A350 aircraft and the airline plans to equip its entire A350 fleet with the product by the end of the year. Emirates also intends to retrofit most Airbus A380 and Boeing 777 aircraft and to equip new Boeing 777X models from the factory starting in 2027. Independent testing confirmed that the headrest meets European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) safety standards, and cabin crew have been trained to help passengers adjust the device.
Emirates President Tim Clark says the innovation aims to improve comfort for economy passengers on long‑distance routes and could make traditional neck pillows unnecessary.
