Emirates NBD launches AI travel assistant with Visa and Tripadvisor

Emirates NBD has launched an AI-powered travel assistant in partnership with Visa and Tripadvisor. Positioned as the first bank-led AI travel tool in the UAE, the conversational platform is available for free on the bank’s website and a dedicated Tripadvisor domain without requiring a bank account or login.

The tool utilizes Tripadvisor’s database of over one billion reviews and eight million listings to generate personalized itineraries, destination suggestions, and local recommendations based on a user’s budget and travel style. It is specifically optimized for the 15 most popular destinations for UAE travelers. Additionally, the assistant dynamically surfaces Visa cardholder benefits, such as car rental offers and hotel discounts, to influence spending decisions.

This initiative reflects a broader trend in the banking sector, where institutions are moving toward ecosystem-led digital banking by engaging customers through lifestyle services rather than purely transactional features.
