Emirates passengers face water leak on Dubai to Istanbul flight

Passengers on Emirates flight EK123 experienced a significant water leak from the ceiling of an Airbus A380 during a flight from Dubai to Istanbul on September 17. The incident occurred shortly after takeoff, with water reportedly dripping from an exit sign and ceiling panels, which one passenger described as a “waterfall.”

Footage from the cabin showed travelers using blankets and cloths to shield themselves from the water. Passengers reported being relocated to different sections of the aircraft, with some claiming they were moved to areas without functional entertainment equipment. One passenger, Hsin Ying Chang, stated that the cabin crew provided no explanation or apology for the incident.

An Emirates spokesperson confirmed that an “accumulation of condensation” caused the water to be observed in part of the cabin. The airline stated that crew members relocated affected customers and followed established procedures. The flight continued to Istanbul as scheduled, and the airline issued an apology for the inconvenience.
