Emirates Rolls Out U‑Dream Headrest for Economy Class Across Its Fleet
Emirates Airline has introduced the U‑Dream headrest, the first of its kind for economy‑class passengers. The padded leather headrest features adjustable side wings, vertical movement and tilt to provide personalized neck and head support, allowing travelers to sleep or relax more comfortably on long‑haul flights.
The headrest is being fitted on Emirates’ Airbus A350s, A380s and Boeing 777 aircraft, with plans to equip all A350s by the end of the year and to install it on future Boeing 777X deliveries and retrofitted A380s from 2027. Developed with Safran Seats as part of the Z400 economy seat, the U‑Dream headrest has been independently tested and certified by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). Emirates President Sir Tim Clark said the innovation demonstrates the airline’s commitment to enhancing the economy‑class experience.
Installation is already underway, and cabin crews have been trained to assist passengers with the new feature, which Emirates hopes will become a standard comfort element for its economy passengers worldwide.
