Emirates SkyCargo surpasses one million pharmaceutical shipments

Emirates SkyCargo has reached a milestone of transporting over one million pharmaceutical shipments through its Dubai hub. This volume represents more than 800,000 tonnes of cargo, connecting manufacturers, healthcare providers, and patients across six continents.

The achievement coincides with the 10th anniversary of the launch of its specialized, Good Distribution Practice (GDP) certified pharmaceutical product. The carrier's infrastructure includes over 16,500 square meters of GDP-certified handling and storage space located at Dubai International Airport (DXB) and Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC).

To maintain temperature integrity, the operation utilizes a dedicated fleet of over 55 cool dollies, which are mobile temperature-controlled containers used during transfers between aircraft and terminals. On average, the carrier transports between 1.5 and 2 million kilograms of pharmaceutical products weekly.
