Emka Feková dies at 16 after long battle with neuroblastoma

Emka Feková, a 16-year-old girl from Prešov, Slovakia, has passed away following a long battle with aggressive neuroblastoma. She died on Monday, August 17, after years of fighting the disease.

First diagnosed at the age of nine, Emka underwent numerous medical procedures, including surgeries, chemotherapy, radiation, and a bone marrow transplant. Although she managed to overcome the cancer several times, the disease repeatedly returned. Despite her health struggles, she continued her education online and pursued her interest in foreign languages.

Her battle drew significant public support in Slovakia, including financial assistance for treatments in Rome. Her family and community are mourning the loss of a young woman who fought to live a normal life despite her recurring illness.
