EMKO ammunition warehouse fire reported in Bulgaria

A fire broke out at an EMKO ammunition warehouse near the village of Tsareva Livada, located between Tryavna and Veliko Tarnovo, Bulgaria. The incident began around 23:20 local time. The facility stores ammunition and gunpowder, and residents in the surrounding area reported hearing explosions.

EMKO manager Slavcho Dimiev stated there is no immediate danger to employees. According to the Ministry of Interior, the nearest settlement is more than one kilometer away, and there is currently no threat to the local population. Three fire safety and population protection teams are on-site managing the situation, and the area has been cordoned off.

This marks the second fire at an EMKO warehouse within a month, following a similar incident on August 10 near the village of Belitsa that also involved explosions and a subsequent forest fire.
