Emílio Macedo da Silva, former Vitória SC president, dies at 73

Emílio Macedo da Silva, the former president of Vitória Sport Clube, has died at the age of 73. A prominent figure in Guimarães sports, he served as president of the club from 2007 to 2012, following a period as vice-president.

His leadership is noted for a significant era of sporting achievement, including the 2007/08 season where Vitória SC finished third in the championship and secured qualification for the UEFA Champions League. Before his tenure at Vitória SC, he helped found and led Os Sandinenses for nearly two decades.
