Emma Coronel begins influencer, modeling career after El Chapo release

Emma Coronel Aispuro, the wife of Mexican drug‑lord Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán, was released from a U.S. prison in September 2023 after serving less than three years for drug‑trafficking and money‑laundering convictions. Following her release she re‑entered public life, walking the runway for designer April Black Diamond in Milan and appearing at the BelicoFest event in Los Angeles. Her Instagram account has grown to roughly 600 000 followers, where she posts fashion, beauty and lifestyle content.

Coronel is also involved in a bilingual television series that will tell the story of El Chapo from her perspective, and she plans to publish a book about her time in prison. The media attention highlights her shift from a cartel‑linked past to a career in modeling, social‑media influencing and entertainment production.
