Emma Heming Willis has spoken about the impact of Bruce Willis's frontotemporal dementia on their family and marriage. In an interview with Le Monde, she described how the progressive disease has transformed their daily lives and communication.

Heming Willis noted that the loss of verbal communication has been particularly difficult, stating, ‘Poco a poco hemos visto cómo las palabras se iban’ (Little by little we saw how the words went away). She expressed that while the loss of conversation was a significant blow to their relationship, the family has learned to adapt and support one another as the illness advances.
