Emma Juntunen misses U20 World Athletics final with personal record

Finnish athlete Emma Juntunen narrowly missed the final of the women's 400-meter hurdles at the U20 World Athletics Championships in Eugene, USA. Juntunen set a new personal record with a time of 57.61 seconds, finishing fifth in her semifinal. She missed a qualifying spot for the final by just five hundredths of a second.

Juntunen noted that she increased her pace and attempted a more aggressive stride pattern during the race. Despite the near miss, she expressed satisfaction with her performance, stating, "I am not in any way sad about the race."

Other Finnish athletes remain in contention for medals at the championships, including Pinja Kärhä in the women's hammer throw, Topias Mustonen in the men's pole vault, and Ella Mikkola and Nuppu Willman in the women's high jump.
