Emma Lundin reveals blood clot diagnosis during Lazio Women tenure

Former Lazio Women midfielder Emma Marika Bergman Lundin has shared details regarding a serious health crisis that prevented her from playing following her transfer to the Italian club in January 2026.

Lundin, who joined from Valerenga, revealed that shortly after her arrival, she was hospitalized after seeking treatment for arm pain. Doctors discovered a blood clot on the left side of her chest. The Swedish player described the experience as terrifying, noting the difficulty of facing a life-threatening medical emergency in a foreign country where she did not speak the language.

The health issue resulted in Lundin being unable to make any appearances for the club during her six-month tenure. She expressed gratitude to her teammates for their support during her recovery and the difficult period following her diagnosis.
