Emma Mečić wins silver at European Para Swimming Championships

Croatian para-swimmer Emma Mečić won a silver medal in the 400m freestyle (S9) at the European Para Swimming Championships in Kocaeli, Turkey. Mečić finished with a time of 4:46.09, following a performance by Poland's Oliwia Jablonska, who set a new European record of 4:36.41 to take the gold. Hungarian swimmer Zsofia Konkoly earned the bronze medal.

Earlier in the championships, the 19-year-old Mečić placed fourth in both the 100m freestyle (S9) and the 200m individual medley (SM9). In the 100m freestyle final, she recorded a time of 1:04.30, narrowly missing the podium in a race won by Jablonska.

Other Croatian competitors included Marija Badrov, who placed seventh in the 400m freestyle, and Matthew Čabraja, who finished seventh in the 200m individual medley (SM11).
