Emma Navarro faces Catherine McNally in US Open matchup

Emma Navarro is set to face Catherine McNally in an all-American second-round matchup at the US Open. The contest features a clash between the No. 27 seed, Navarro, and the No. 65 seed, McNally. Their career series is currently tied at 2-2.

Navarro enters the match following a three-set victory over Lois Boisson, despite a challenging 6-12 record on hard courts this season. McNally holds a stronger recent profile on the surface with a 13-11 record and has historically performed well in New York.

Observers have noted Navarro’s recent struggles, including a dip in live rankings and a 4-8 record during the 2026 season. However, analysts suggest her fundamental game—characterized by physical endurance, tactical intelligence, and all-court instincts—remains a significant asset despite recent fluctuations in rhythm and confidence.
