Emma Raducanu withdraws from Toronto and Cincinnati tournaments after stress fracture

British No. 1 Emma Raducanu announced she will miss the WTA 1000 events in Toronto and Cincinnati after a grade‑four stress fracture was confirmed in her right shin. The injury, discovered during a scan the night before her scheduled Wimbledon match, has forced her out of the North American hard‑court swing and casts doubt on her participation in the US Open.

Raducanu will lose the 325 ranking points she earned at the Canadian and Cincinnati tournaments last year, likely dropping her out of the world’s top‑60. The setback follows a series of previous injuries, including wrist and ankle surgery in 2023, and adds to concerns about the British women's team’s prospects at upcoming Grand Slams.
