Armand Duplantis wins fourth consecutive European pole vault title

Armand Duplantis secured his fourth consecutive European Athletics Championship gold medal in the pole vault at the Alexander Stadium in Birmingham. Duplantis achieved a new championship record with a height of 6.15 meters. Despite facing challenges, including a recent period of illness and injury, the Swedish athlete maintained his dominance in major competitions.

Greek athlete Emmanouil Karalis claimed the silver medal with a successful jump at 6.00 meters. Karalis provided significant competition, pushing the contest toward higher heights and nearly challenging the championship record. The bronze medal was won by France's Baptiste Thiery, who cleared 5.85 meters.

Duplantis, who has set 15 world records in the discipline, opted not to attempt further heights after securing the gold, leaving his world record of 6.31 meters untouched.
