Armand Duplantis wins Lausanne Diamond League pole vault

Armand Duplantis won the men’s pole vault at the Diamond League meeting in Lausanne, Switzerland, clearing 6.21 metres to set a new meet record. The victory marked a strong return to form for the Swedish athlete following a recent groin injury.

Greek vaulter Emmanouil Karalis secured second place with a height of 6.16 metres, marking a new Greek outdoor personal best. The competition was noted for its high level of performance, as it was one of the few instances where two athletes cleared over 6.10 metres in the same event. Australian Kurtis Marschall finished third, clearing 5.91 metres.

During the event, Duplantis attempted to break his own world record by clearing 6.32 metres but was unsuccessful in his two attempts. Karalis also attempted a significant height of 6.26 metres in his final effort but did not clear it. Duplantis expressed satisfaction with the competition and noted the strength of the field as he prepares for the upcoming Ultimate Championship in Budapest.
