Emmanuel Macron commemorates Provence landings during summer break

French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife, Brigitte Macron, spent their summer break at Fort de Brégançon on the French Riviera. During his stay, the President participated in commemorations for the 82nd anniversary of the landings in Provence and the liberation of Bormes-les-Mimosas.

Addressing the local community, Macron urged citizens not to succumb to a “creeping spirit of defeatism.” He also paid tribute to the veterans of the liberation, noting the passing of the last direct actors of that era. As he enters the final stretch of his presidency, Macron is scheduled to preside over the Council of Ministers at the end of August.
