Emmanuel Macron criticizes EU leadership communication

French President Emmanuel Macron has described meetings with current European leaders as "depressive and completely lacking in creativity." According to excerpts from the book "You Are All Too Harsh on Me" by journalist Françoise Degoua, which includes private Telegram messages from the past two years, Macron expressed that he misses former German Chancellor Angela Merkel and former European Central Bank President Mario Draghi.

In the released correspondence, Macron defended his 2024 decision to call snap parliamentary elections, stating he intended to catch Marine Le Pen’s National Rally unprepared. He also criticized former Prime Minister Gabriel Attal, suggesting he was provided with excessive political support.

Addressing potential resignation amid domestic political crises, Macron stated, "Resignation? Never! For no reason! I do not intend to desert. I am moving forward." Additionally, he defended pension reforms and expressed belief that Marine Le Pen would be unable to hide her pro-Russian stances and affinity for the MAGA movement.
