Emmanuel Macron: Journalist publishes private exchanges in new book

Journalist and editorialist Françoise Degois has released a book titled “Vous êtes tous trop durs avec moi,” which features a series of private messages exchanged with French President Emmanuel Macron over nearly two years. The President was reportedly neither consulted nor notified regarding the publication.

The book provides insight into the President’s personal reactions to political developments, including the dissolution of the National Assembly, the rise of the far right, and the 2024 legislative elections. The transcribed exchanges show Macron responding to the journalist with a mix of humor and anger. For instance, when Degois criticized the President for not appointing a left-wing Prime Minister, Macron responded by mocking the idea that Lucie Castets could lead the government.

While the book does not contain explosive political revelations, it offers a glimpse into the psychological state and the solitude of the presidency during Macron’s tenure.
