Emmanuel Macron lauds PSG triumph and meets French football team

President Emmanuel Macron welcomed Paris Saint‑Germain after its Champions League victory at the Élysée Palace, describing the win as a source of national pride. He also warned that authorities would adopt a zero‑tolerance stance toward the violent disturbances that followed the celebrations, noting that hundreds of people were detained and dozens of police officers injured.

Two days later, Macron and First Lady Brigitte visited the French national football team at the Clairefontaine training centre. He praised coach Didier Deschamps, met players including captain Kylian Mbappé, and also interacted with members of the women’s national side ahead of the squad’s upcoming World Cup campaign.
