VivaTech 2026 marks 10th anniversary with record 200,000 visitors

From 17‑20 June 2026, VivaTech gathered at Paris Porte de Versailles for its 10th edition, drawing more than 200,000 visitors from 165 nationalities. The event hosted over 15,000 startups, 4,500 exhibitors and 1,155 speakers, generating in excess of five billion social‑media impressions. French President Emmanuel Macron and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended, alongside tech leaders such as Jeff Bezos, Bernard Arnault, and European Commission officials.

Key showcases included a smart contact lens from XPANCEO, a thought‑controlled humanoid robot by Unitree × HABS, and 3D‑printed resorbable medical implants from Lattice Medical. New formats like the Business Plaza and Investors Office Hours facilitated networking, while the inaugural VivaTech × Bloomberg Awards honoured Tim Berners‑Lee, Joe Tsai and Yann LeCun. The public day featured astronaut Thomas Pesquet, and organisers quoted Maurice Lévy: “This 10th edition was not a celebration of the 9 previous years, but the opening of a new decade full of promise.”

Analysts highlighted the event’s relevance for Africa, noting opportunities in AI, fintech, digital health, agriculture and green tech. In a subsequent speech, President Macron urged Europe to develop home‑grown AI solutions and open‑source alternatives, stressing that Europe must avoid becoming merely a consumer of foreign technology.
