Emmanuel Macron's final term sees new AI adviser and last presidential retreat at Fort de Brégançon

Clara Chappaz, a former French Tech executive, will become President Emmanuel Macron's adviser for artificial intelligence, digital affairs and attractiveness on 1 August 2026, remaining in that role until the end of the president's term in May 2027. She replaces two departing counsellors, taking over responsibilities for industry, innovation, digital policy and export promotion as the administration prepares for its final months.

At the same time, the official presidential residence at Fort de Brégançon near Bormes‑les‑Mimosas is being opened to the public ahead of what is expected to be President Macron's last summer at the site. Guided tours have become the most requested attraction in the town, reflecting public interest in the historic retreat that has hosted French presidents since 1968.
