Emmerdale adds new character Steve, played by Jason Done, to Kev Townsend's storyline

Emmerdale introduced a new character, Steve, a friend of long‑time resident Kev Townsend, in the episode broadcast on 24 July 2026. Steve is portrayed by actor Jason Done, who is best known for his seven‑year stint as teacher Tom Clarkson in the BBC series Waterloo Road.

The Manchester‑born Steve arrives in the village, is noticed by Kev’s son Lewis in the café, and quickly secures a night’s stay with Charles and Claudette. He hints at causing trouble and suggests an interest in Claudette’s money, while Kev maintains that he has left his criminal past behind.
